Hand-Made Pasta Specialist
I am very drawn towards hand-made stuffs. Even happier if it’s edible. *glee*
Well, it wasn’t really an impromptu idea to drop by Impromptu having heard they specialized in hand-made pastas!
It’s not just that, be it hot food, sandwiches, snacks for sharing, desserts…… they have it.
*Special thanks to Impromptu for the invitation
Let’s begin snacking while waiting for the main characters
Crispy Crab Cakes – RM11.90
Golden brown deep fried patty filled with shredded crab meat. Crispy outer layer with bountiful ingredient within. However, it was a wee bit salty to our liking.
Served with a bed of garden fresh salad with tangy dressing, this saved the dish 🙂
Soft-shell Crab Salad – RM12.90
Having our favourite hot and crunchy soft shell crabs on a bed of greens is a great combination; with a hint of salty flavour from the crabs and sweet tang from the green crunch plus dressing.
Food-4-Thoughts:
Which would be your favourite pasta?
Angel hair tossed in olive oil?
Spaghetti Aglio Olio?
Pesto Ravioli?
Carbonara Fettuccine? perhaps… Alfredo Linguine or even Tomato Gnocchi?
These would be some of our usual orders when it comes to pastas. Being Malaysian, it’s undeniable that we are born with the local tastebuds. We’re all growing up with curries and spices around us. And would you be interested if your love for pastas could be more adventerous?
Let’s get adventerous and let your tastebuds venture into something new. You could opt for either:
Spaghetti or Fettuccine
Normal pasta or Charcoal Pasta
Grilled Chicken Pesto – RM15.90
The grilled chicken was a lil’ dry, maybe because they are using the chicken breast which are meant to be this way. The home-made basil pesto rocked this pasta dish. The pesto sauce mingled pretty evenly and it’s aromatic. It would be better if the pasta is more al-dente.
Tandoori Chicken Fettuccine – RM16.90
We’ve tried Tandoori Chicken with Naan & this was pretty new to us. Fettuccine tossed with curried tomato sauce and topped with tandoori chicken was a great tasty fusion.
Curried Soft Shell Crab – RM17.90
The fettuccine this round was charcoal based. A creamy sauce based pasta added with curry powder, churning up a south-east meets west flavour. Adding the soft shell crab boosted the overall texture. An innovative pasta dish 🙂
My favourite dish of the night.
Mushroom & Veggie Fettuccine – RM14.90 (Vegetarian)
Cooked in alfredo sauce, it’s a creamy fare if you would like to take a meat-day off.
Impromptu Lamb-urger – RM16.90
Juicy grilled lamb patty spread with mango chutney sauce, served with fresh garden leaves on a home made bun. Apart from the lamb meat itself, the patty was also filled with onions; with a strong flavour of lamb. According to the chef, they are immersed in lamb fats beforehand. How clever 🙂
