Kajang is synonymous with satay. Like it or not, this little town will probably never escape that association in the years to come. Long live Kajang Satay!
What’s not to like about satay? Pieces of meat marinated in a mixture of spices and seasoning (lemongrass is a key ingredient), skewered and then grilled. It is every meat lover’s dream snack. Or meal. One of our favourite street food definitely. And appeared at most on our parties. Haha.
Everybody has their favourite satay joint and this is ours.
Satay Emas
Used to operate their business at Medan Satay Kajang, they have now shifted to Warong Sipot, that is located at Jalan Sungai Kantan. Their previous location was pretty prime as it was just opposite the MRT Station.
We were upset thinking that they might have closed down but so glad that we found their new location!
They have so many options available and that includes chicken, most parts of chicken like chicken feet, bone and liver. Turkey, rabbit, duck, lamb, beef, cow’s parts and venison as well.
Well, we would usually just stick to their classic Satay Ayam (Chicken).
The meat is deliciously grilled, tender and juicy too! And we personally love their kuah kacang (peanut sauce) – best added with the sambal for extra oomph!
There are lots of different stalls selling satay in Kajang but this remains our favourite so far. If you have more recommendations, do let us know!
