Tapas Club @ Pavilion Kuala Lumpur

The French may have garnered the reputation for fine dining but when it comes to no-holds-barred flavour bombs, Spanish cuisine packs a real punch. Think the goodness of Jamon Iberico, patatas bravas and piquant tomato gravies that elevate a simple dish into the realms of pleasure. These robust flavours belong to a culinary culture that has gifted the world with a range of concepts — from finger-lickingly delicious tapas for sharing during a boisterous night, hearty paella, to the immensely influential Tapas Club.

Tapas Club is also helmed by Executive Chef Jose Angel Alonso (also the Executive Chef of Binomio Spanish Restaurant) and one-star Michelin Chef Manuel Berganza (the first Spanish chef in U.S. to earn a one-star Michelin rating). Both Spanish chefs envision to offer these special flavours at a much affordable pricing in a premium restaurant setting.

Garlic Prawns – RM26
If Spain is famous for its delicious tapas, the recipe for Gambas al Ajillo is probably one of the most popular. A favourite tapas dish, these prawns are infused with the flavours of garlic, olive oil and chilli. The taste of prawns perfectly complements that of garlic and chilli and this sauce would be great to go with the bread.

The highly recommended and must-try dessert at Tapas Club, this is their deconstructed cheese cake. A dessert served on-point, the aromatic and crispy crumbly bits paired perfectly with the lighty sweetened “cheesecakes” and berries on sides.
