With a posh & classic blue entrance like the Parisian cafe and interiors as chic as its crowd, 2OX Gourmet French Bistro has just recently made a revamp to their menu, preserving some of its traditional French-bistro menu items with given modern twist. Also, more gourmet choices are available now.
We believed gourmands will be anything but disappointed; the classic sophistication, elegance of the staff and superlative cuisine served here was “magnifique”.
With innovative changes to the menu led by Chef Phillippe, 2OX can become the crème de la crème of French restaurants in KL city. Besides being well-known as a winner for dining à deux, 2OX has also become a place for group dining. Thus it’s a must to try items in the fiery glow of their Josper grill.

Appetizers
Grilled camembert cheese / cirtus compressed plums / toasted hazelnuts / raspberry glaze
Camembert has been my favourite choice of cheese ever since I taste it. Camembert is more intense, deep and earthy than brie – packed with flavours. With added elements by Chef, there was no mistake to this serving.
Tiger prawn torchon / crispy seaweed / caramelized pine nuts / poached potato / wholegrain mustard vinaigrette
This serving brought a lot of different textures and flavours to our sensation. Having this appetizer already excites my palate for the mains to come.
Main Course
Braised ox-tail / pea emulsion / granny smith apple ragout
Being one of the most flavourful beef cuts, long braising of oxtails makes the meat fall off the bones and creates a rich stock.
Best paired with French Red Wine definitely – Chateau Malmaison 2013
Sous vide spring chicken / cepe mushroom reduction / garlic potato puree / preserved red cabbage
Sous vide chicken is definitely different from traditionally cooked chicken. It tastes really juicy and soft! The skin was also quite crispy – and was a perfect match in taste with the garlic potato puree.

Mild spicy mediterranean rub squid (130gm) – RM 55
For me, it created a jolt to the taste bud. Fresh, flavoursome and has the char-grilled flavour to it. Definitely a favourite!
Duck breast / honey, coriander & orange glaze – RM 70
The duck breast is juicy, luxurious & topped with a little fat on its skin – making it so aromatic and a lil’ sinful too.
Tiger prawns / hazelnut & thyme brown butter (6pcs) – RM 67
Like the squid, it was a fascinating order

Desserts
Passion fruit souffle
Light, airy and impressive to serve.
Carrot & walnut cake / cinnamon whipped cream cheese / banoffee ice cream
Love this combination of desserts as they complement very well to each other. Moist and tender with that luscious cinnamon whipped cream cheese on top!
