Just more than a month ago, we’ve started Mini C in a playgroup. We have always strongly believed that play is one of the main ways in which children learn. It helps to build self worth by giving a child a sense of his or her own abilities and to feel good about themselves. Because it’s fun, children often become very absorbed in what they are doing. Just like Mini C. In turn, this helps him develop the ability to concentrate, as he’s attention span is very short-lived. Organised activities help develop their learning in an informal setting. In turn, this is preparing them for more formal school life.
Some parents may find it unnecessary but with these activities offered nowadays, children can learn to see things differently!
Mini C goes to BeeBop Circus!
Children learn through all their senses by tasting, touching, seeing, hearing and smelling & Mini C now learns to watch and copy people close to him, mimicking their language and action too. Haha.
Hare at BeeBop, teachers are very proactive, energetic and this makes Mini C pay more attention to what they are saying too. Also, they have different themes every 2 weeks with a range of playthings will help them learn in a number of ways:
– Some games that will help with taking turns, sharing and mixing with others.
– Singing, playing simple music instruments help to develop rhythm, listening and hearing.
– Objects, colours and shape sorters can help them with recognising different shapes and sizes, putting things in order and developing logic.
– Dancing, running, climbing all help to develop body movement, strength, flexibility and co-ordination skills.
– Playing with themes accordingly can encourage creativity, imagination and expression of feelings.
Mini C has experienced themes like Camping, Circus & Beach Day so far & they have also incorporated pretend play, which contributes to a child’s emotional development as they learn to see life from a different viewpoint and allows them to try situations before they happen.
Mini C’s little gf (K) also joined in the fun 🙂
Some set-ups for different themes
Most importantly, he had lots of fun!
These are my personal thoughts so far & we’ll be updating more on his progress after more classes 🙂
