We both love Mediterranean countries. Sun, happy people, delicious food and liters of refreshing drinks. Many of you know that Spain is on our top countries list when it comes to travelling. But it is the Italian cuisine which truly stole my heart during our visit! Is it possible to merge those two cultures here? I was pretty excited when we recently discovered new tapas place that has a description of “Italian wine bar married with Spanish tapas” and that’s a merger we’re happy to toast. Oh yeah!
Sapore
An Italian Spanish-Mediterranean restaurant that serves Artisan food and fine wine.
All about Jamon Iberico, Tapas and Wine! – serving unique Spanish Italian Fusion cuisine where every plate is an experience, we would say.
Sapore is a family oriented and friendly lounge/restaurant. It isn’t just a place to eat fine Spanish and Italian fusion cuisines, but a place were you can relax, talk to people, have fun drinks and lay back while enjoying our food.
Sangria Red Wine – RM28
I personally love sangria very much. Maybe it’s because of it’s fruity concoction and the right acidity it leaves in my mouth. Cheers!
Chilean White Wine – Sauvignon Blanc
Basket of Focaccia (additional) – RM5
We were served their homemade Focaccia and if you would like to order extra, just pay an additional RM5 for them cos they were worth it. It has a lingering flavour that is not of flour, but rather an almost sour, barely the tang. And, the texture was perfect. The outside have the slightest bit of crunch while the inside is doughy without being underdone. You would be eating a lot of this as it goes so swell with all our orders of meat, pork lard (gosh!) and anchovies.
Lardo Flavoured Tuscany Pork Lard – RM25
This fine cold cut is made from cured pig’s back fat. You could think of it a bit like just the fatty part of a beautiful slice of prosciutto – but oh so much more. Sliced in super thin, practically transparent slices that melt on your tongue, it can simply enjoyed like this as part of an antipasto, or on slices of hot focaccia like us!
Anchovies Marinated in Olive Oil – RM22
Prosciutto di Parma Ham – RM30
All-natural, gluten-free cured ham – delicious in every bite.
Capocollo Dry-cured Pork Shoulder – RM25
Sapore really serve great cold cuts of meat.
Queso Manchego with honey – RM22
We’ve never had any Queso Manchego cheese & Manchego is a moderately aged, hard sheep’s milk cheese. It melts well and is often used in quesadillas. Eating on its own it has this caramel and nutty flavour. Dip some into the honey for a surprise.
Pork Ribs Barbecue Sauce – RM25
Rigatoni Rosticciana Tube Pasta & Stewed Iberico Pork Ribs, Tomatoes – RM 38
Pasta was al dente and the stewed Iberico pork was really good and tasty.
Spaghetti Carbonara – RM28
Eggs Yolk, Guanciale Ham & Pecorino
I absolutely love this creamy and cheesy recipe. Best to share of course.
Spaghetti Aglio Olio Crumbs & Anchovies Pecorino and Baby Tomatoes – RM26
Not my best experience of Aglio Olio as it was a tad too dry to my liking.
Delicious tapas that we indulged in:
Potato Cake Apulia Style – RM14
Eggplant Parmigiana Style – RM18
Roasted suckling pig (1 whole pig RM368 / Half pig RM198)
Sapore serves crispy roasted suckling pig too!
Remember to call up & reserve if you would like to place an order for this dish as it’s an off-menu item.
Desserts Time! We always have an extra stomach for this category. Haha.
Panna Cotta – RM12
Vanilla Creme Brulee – RM16
Tiramisu with Coffee & Kalua – RM20
