We recently visited a bar, bistro & restaurant that serves elevated versions of classic comfort foods ala Australian-European classics. The bistro offers a range of appetizers, salads, pastas, pizzas and delicious entrees that highlights pork dishes as forte. Oh yum!
As we entered we saw a sleek and cosy bar, with an artistic touch of the classic murals on their wall – the ancient European decorating ideas gracefully.
It’s a great place for drinks and to settle down on some comfort food.
Whether you favour beer, wine or serious cocktails, a beer-and-shot special or a transporting glass of wine, Eighth Avenue has a game-changing bar to slake your thirst.
And especially when we fell in love with the Boss’s favourite as well:
The Gin – Hendricks
They have an extensive menu of alcoholic drinks and another special Hendricks menu.
Paging all Hendricks lovers! This could be your new favourite hang out spot!
Why I fell in love with with the crystal clear Hendricks?
It has more perfume than a regular gin, rose, cucumber, coriander with citrus and other aromatics adding to the blend.
It tasted medium to light body with an aromatic blend of scents, mild tingling on the lips and tongue lingering finish. Very clean distillation. Slight warming burn on the way down. Lingering finish with floral and citrus notes and the smoothness of cucumber is apparent.
Here are some our our favourites!
Cucumber Spritz – RM44.90
Hendricks, fresh cucumber, lime slices, soda water & a spring of mint
Boss’s Favourite – RM44.90

Karate Piggy Chop – RM44.90
It pretty difficult to ensure proper cooking which doesn’t sacrifice texture or moisture of a pork chop but the chef certainly nailed it.
Chicken Pot Pie – RM25.90
Chicken thigh cooked in cream with mushroom and vegetables, covered with puff pastry and baked till golden crispy brown, side of garden salad.
Desserts:
Sizzling Brownie Point – RM21.90
This mouth-watering delicious sizzling brownies are made by arranging brownies, chocolate sauce and vanilla ice-cream in just the right way on a piping hot sizzler plate. The aroma of molten chocolate, and the fizzling sound of frozen ice-cream on a sizzling dessert send strong signals to our taste buds – almost like getting lost in the world of mouthwatering ecstasy. Haha.
Creme Brulee – RM18.90
Love the vanilla custard, and the crunchy caramelized sugar on top added flavour and texture.
