The hamburger is probably the most popular food in the world, and each country gives it their personal twist and prestigious patties. Loosen up your belts people!
Soft hot buns and the fillings would be nice juicy barbecued burger of fine Angus beef. Thick slices of bright red tomatoes and lettuce, and one can add ketchups or mustard for the extra kick! One would get this at Shake Shack!
I was very impressed with its exterior even before stepping in to make my order. Great interior design overall, with a huge menu being displayed on the wall. They also have sufficient counters to cater the crowd.
One could opt to sit out of the restaurant too near the waterfall. What a sight!
When it comes to service, I absolutely loved it too despite Shake Shack being a self-service restaurant. One would feel welcomed even from the entrance itself. The staff greeted us and led us to the counter for order. And at the counter, the staffs have very good recommending skills too. However, their counter for self-order was kinda cramp. Perhaps they could work out more space to create a more comfortable ordering experience for both the patrons and staffs
Once order was done, we were given a buzzer, which will notify us once our order is ready to be collected.
After collecting our delicious looking burgers, we then proceed to their sauces and utensils section to get ketchups, chili, mustard, straws, serviettes etc.
Shack Burger – AED 26 (Single)
Cheeseburger topped with lettuce, tomato and ShackSauce.
They used 100% Angus beef. Nice soft bun with great meat texture from the patty itself. Packed with flavours that are not too empowering and simple ingredients like tomatoes and lettuce results different layers of texture too with an extra little crunch.
Smoke Shack – AED 38 (Single)
Cheeseburger topped with hickory smoked veal bacon, spicy chopped cherry pepper and Shack Sauce.
An extra addition of veal bacon contributed to a little saltiness and cherry peppers gave an uplift of flavours with hints of spiciness
Everything complement well together.
Shroom Burger – AED 26
Crispy fried Portobello mushroom filled with melted muenster and cheddar cheeses, topped with lettuce, tomato and ShackSauce.
Being skeptical on its look and presentation, I would think that this order would be very dry. However on one bite, the Portobello mushroom is actually moist and juicy. The deep fried method contributes to different textures of this vegetarian burger.
Shack-cago Hot Dog – AED25
Vienna all-beef hot dog served with Rick’s Pick Shack relish, onion, cucumber, pickle, tomato, sport pepper, celery salt and mustard.
A little bit spicy but definitely tolerable to Malaysian tastebuds. However I would still prefer ordering burgers than this.
Cheese Fries – AED20
A common item that we would have in Malaysia but they were really generous with the cheese. One can opt to choose the cheese being served on the side as well if they don’t want their fries gets soggy too fast.
Cheese Fries with extra cherry pepper – AED26
Spicy version of the fries with tolerable spiciness. Loved this fries as the cherry pepper flavours matched pretty well with the fries.
I love their promotional special menu in conjunction with Hari Raya Haji where they have off menu items that are seasonal.
Shack Attack Concretes – AED 24 (Single)
Concretes are dense frozen custard ice cream blended at high speed with mix-ins. Very rich chocolate-y flavor that both children and adults would love to try.
Red Velvet Concretes – AED 24 (Single)
Smooth custard texture and not too sweet. That’s what’s important. One of my favourite.
I would love to see more of Shake Shack in Malaysia definitely! Would be an instant neighbourhood fixture, youngsters and families would be happy to gather, enjoying high quality burgers (if decently priced). Definitely a great concept from its exterior, ambiance, order sequence, staff’s efficiency and friendliness to the food. Burgers portion are just nice and nicely presented. Shake Shack managed to hit the right note with a mindful burger concept with a simple menu that everyone loves.
