The Han Room @ The Gardens Mall, Mid Valley City

There’s nothing quite like the comforting first bite of a steaming hot dumpling. Dim sum is communal, caters to almost any palate. What’s a better way to spend our morning than over dim sum?
So we were planning an in-laws meet up for Mini C & Rocker Girl, baby to cat celebrity mama @mocas on Instagram!
LOL. #crazymamas

Outta ideas where to dine at The Gardens, we decided to visit The Han Room, having heard that their dim sum spread are better than 1-Michelin star restaurant Tim Ho Wan. Must try then 🙂
The Han Room at The Gardens Mall, opened way bank in January 2011, showcases the finest and latest dishes inspired by Chinese Cuisine History with influences of current Global trends and flavours. It is located at the main entrance of The Gardens, very prominent Chinese restaurant for Malaysians and tourists to enjoy definitely.
We were looking forward to try out their celebrated dim sum items, from steamed, baked, pan-fried to deep fried.
When in doubt, order the classic ones – pork dumplings, BBQ pork buns, shrimp dumplings, rice rolls and egg tarts!

In The Han Room
We get the sense posh-ness and magnificence upon entering the restaurant, which could imply that their food is surely to impresses. Well, they did. Looks like we have another place to go after our old time favourite Grand Imperial’s dim sums!
Their setting is elegant and sophisticated, great venue for family gatherings, corporate luncheons and of course enjoying a tête-à-tête session with friends, like what we did!

I’ve read that the crowd here can be quite crazy where patrons will need to queue. The crowds keep coming for their excellent dim sum I’ve heard. We were there for brunch on a weekday so no queue at all. But the lunch crowd poured in there after.
On weekends, the crowds can be crazy. Though seta scan be reserved but you will still need to wait if it’s full. So be punctual 🙂

Dim Sums and dishes here are excellent, from the huge (and hugely good value) variety that they offer. Some might find it premium but we thought with the price, the venue and the ingredient plus taste you get, it’s still good to go. Go in a group and the average spending per person will be around RM25-RM35 (depends on what you order unless you order more premium items. Haha)
Love their dumplings, be it deep fried of cooked in broth, with its delicate case and aromatic filling. Stir fry items were loaded with wok-hei, Steam rice in pots were delectable too.
Well we have been favouring dim sums at Grand Imperial but looks like this will be another place for gatherings if anyone calls for “Yum Cha”. Hehe.
Will be back for more 🙂

Babies meet up over dim sum talk 🙂
Here’s Mini C & Rocker! The future lovers! Yay 🙂

  1. Nice! I haven’t tried The Han Room before and I don’t think Tim Ho Wan in KL is very good (having eaten at the original One Star Michelin place in HK) but if The Han Room is better, I’ll be there. I’ve always been a huge fan of dim sum. Cheers for the recommendation.
