Ohaiyo Gozaimasu おはようございます!
It’s time for another Japanese post before our HK EAT>SHOP>SEE Marathon continues…
We’re blessed with more Japanese fares when Tokyo Street 東京ストリート kicks in. Japanese snacks, bakeries, buffet, tea house, ramen haven……
We circled around and decided for another new-comer in Pavilion instead having heard that they opened around 600 outlets in Japan, China, Singapore & Taiwan…
Watami!
Watami Japanese Casual Restaurant is located at the connection level 4, populated with happening pubs, bar and restaurants. Upon entering, we were greeted & served by very friendly and humble staffs. A dimmed environment beautified with a casual ambiance, along with very attentive waiters, it’s very comfortable to dine-in. Their menu is quite extensive with an affordable price.
Kari-Kari Pasta – RM5.90
A light appetizing crispy bite with hints of saltiness; infusion of umami. Great snacks to share with friends over chit-chats.
Tsubuse Mentai Potato Salad – RM12.90
A DIY potato salad, it’s actually fun to mash it up ourselves!
Tokujo Irodori Sushi – RM20.90
Special assorted sushi – salmon, unagi (eel), tuna
Fresh ingredients making every bite a clean and tasty one.
Hiroshima Okonomiyaki – RM16.90
お好み焼き Okonomiyaki; the Japanese Pancake was one of our favourite. Great batter with toppings like shrimps, meat, vege and noodles, the cooked cooked okonomiyaki is drizzled with flavoursome okonomiyaki sauce which is similar to Worcestershire sauce but slightly thicker and sweeter & katsuobushi (bonito flakes) & Japanese mayonnaise.
Kushiyaki Moriawase – RM16.90
Assorted Skewers – beef with spring onions & asparagus, chicken thigh, wings & soft bones.
Not one of the best as it lacks the smoky and succulent flavours.
Gyuniku Sukiyaki Nabe – RM24.90
One of the must-try Japanese hot pot, it’s slowly simmered with shiitake and enokitake, beef, tofu, chinese cabbage, leek. Once the soup base started to boil, break in the egg and mix ’em for smoother texture and better flavour.
Unagi Kamameshi – RM19.90
We all agreed that this Eel Pot Rice is no ordinary unagi rice. Other than the kicking tangy flavours of Unagi, the rice is slowly cooked in a pot before us. Infused with flavours from the mushrooms and other ingredients, the rice somehow tasted sweeter 🙂
A great place to hangout when you’re looking for a comfortable spot for casual Japanese dining.
