The very first happy post of year 2010!
We were such spendthrifts at the end of the year!
Thanks to each other’s birthdays who falls near Christmas and the year end sales. Countless parties and celebrations to attend in such ‘hey hey yo! yo!’ mood.
In conjunction with this birthday post, we would like to wish our bestie, AiWei a very Happy Birthday! Love you girl!
This means more makan and less curves to us all. *pats forehead*
When all happening and blissful events came heaping up, searching for the ideal spot to rejoice could be a twist and turn issue. I was lucky as his high school friends suggested that we drop by Kokopelli for a warm celebration.
What could one expect when you’re seated in a mansion-based bistro? Very homey, we loved the ambiance and decos. Monotone murals on the outdoor walls, old school bookshelves, artistic paintings with plants and flowers to match with. I love it being simple and just pretty to look at.
The Food Agenda:
Classic Mushroom Soup – RM10.90
Made with fresh mushrooms of portobello, swiss brown & white button, this serving was quite a let-down. We thought that it was a lil’ too diluted with minimum mushroom taste. We still prefer the thick and rich version of a mushroom soup.
Roast Chicken with Kokopelli Black Pepper Sauce – RM22.90
Served with mashed potatoes, this was actually quite a worthy order. The black pepper sauce was not too empowering and so, it’s acceptable 🙂
Seafood Linguine Aglio Olio – RM20.90
with mussels, prawns, calamaries and chili flakes. A total let down, I’m afraid. Tastewise it was acceptable actually but definitely not an aglio olio style. More to a Chinese approach, I personally thought. I was really looking forward actually.
Signature Fried Kuay Teow – RM10.90
Fried with lotsa wok hei with cockles, prawns, bean sprouts and chives, this compensates my disappointment towards the linguine. Initially we didn’t thought of ordering a CKT, but with strong recommendation from the staffs, we gave it a try. With the right level of spiciness, not too dry nor wet.
Pizza Pollo (Chicken & Pineapples) – RM16.90
A Hawaiian version of a pizza, with bountiful amount of chicken and pineapples. Too bad the meat was a little too dry to our liking, but luckily there was juicy pineapples to counterbalance it.
Beef Lasagne
Chris loves this most. Generous amount of cheese with mined beef empowered with tangy sauces to boost your appetite.
Fly me to the Moon – RM7.90
Pineapple Juice with Monin Syrup. How was it Bryan? 🙂
A birthday for Chris is definitely not complete without a birthday cake. Since the last Peach Yoghurt Cheesecake was satisfying, I ordered a Blueberry Cheesecake from AiWei and it’s an awesome choice. Creamy and rich with fresh blueberries spread on top and in between. Feel free to email her at icaiwei@gmail.com for further inquiries.
The Birthday Boy. In matching colours 🙂
