It’s been raining cats and dogs these few evenings and what’s best to soothe my momentary trembling nerves is a bowl of pipping hot porridge definitely! Not just some ordinary porridge… but a bowl of fishy Sang Yu Porridge will make me salivate!
Yap Yin Restaurant does not only offer great bak kut teh meals, which I’ve not tried, but also delicious and most importantly fresh Sang Yus! *snakehead fish* Am I correct? I suppose that’s what it’s called. Their specialty defenitely! Since the last time we visited, we were anticipated for our next visit here to give their well-acknowledged delicious porridge a go! What made it special besides the fresh fish is that, we’ll have to cook the fish ourselves! Some resemblance to the porridge steamboat, they only offer 2 types; either Sang Yu or Paddy Frog. We chose over Sang Yu as we just can’t resist the freshness of it! For RM34, we get to enjoy the meal for 5. You can request for the addition of porridge as well. I simply can’t get enough of it!
Let’s not waste time and start to cook!
Here’s my bowl of yummy porridge! These ingredients are perfect for each other 🙂
Trust me. A must order! *wink*
Well, besides having porridge, mom ordered the Braised Pork with Salted Vegetables for RM16 too. Pleasantly tasted, no queries at all! Though that, I prefer having this dish with rice. This picture depicted the amount of fats kinda much… there’s more of the ‘not so fat ones’ beneath. 😉 Fleshy meat!
My desire in consuming crabs rises abruptly that evening and requested mom to make an order for that. Nothing can hinder me from getting my hands on these crabs! We had the Kam Heong Crabs and the sauce is finger-licking good! However, it could be better. It’s not spicy enough for me. Priced at RM38.
I find the texture of the claw meats were kinda rough, but just look at its size! As large as my plate. *gigantic!* Do all giant crab have a rougher texture of meat in its claws or pincers?
Luckily not to disappoint me further, this crustacean species still offer soft and fresh meat right here at this part! Yum~~
The total bill came up to RM91 for 5 person. Highly satisfying, however, the crab could be better. A warm and hearty meal, especially with your family!
