Autograph Collection hotels are a collection of distinct, luxury hotels that are unique in design.
“Iconic” and “historic” are two words frequently used to describe the upscale Autograph Collection.
And who’s one of the new addition to the family of Autograph Collection?
Hotel Stripes
Another YTL Luxury Hotel, guests who enjoy the creativity of independent hotels, but appreciate the high standards upheld throughout the Marriott family, should look to this brand.
As an Autograph Collection, Hotel Stripes Kuala Lumpur features a distinctive vibe and character with a different perspective on the local scene mixed with a bit of edgy style and adventure.
It was really a delight for us to check out Hotel Stripes’s Brasserie 25, a French-style restaurant located on level 1 that provide a rustic & relaxed vibe.
Nothing beats its rustic charm – classy red brick arcades, mid-century copper sputnik chandeliers and dark wood floors. Simply love their ambiance and the overall settings.
It was during Valentine’s Day and Brasserie do offer a Valentine’s set menu. However, we decided to go for their ala carte as we would love to have more choices of appetizers and mains.
Saumon Fume – RM40
Home smoked salmon, iceberg lettuce and pommery dressing.
Simple, light and fresh!
Soupe A L’Oignon – RM30
French Onion Soup with croutons and cheese
Love the texture and flavour but it would be perfect the intensity is thicker.
Foie Gras Poele- RM50
Pan seared foie gras with warm onion marmalade and spiced bread.
The foie gras was buttery and aromatic. Always love the foie gras and onion marmalade combo!
Some French Red Wine to pair the red meat with – the Bonpas 🙂
Carre D’Agneau En Croute D’Herbes – RM120
Roasted Rack of Lamb with herbs, honey and mint mustard sauce & Truffle mashed potato.
Juicy lamb rack, and the meat has a distinctly cottony, grainy texture and of course a very delicious sauce.
Joue De Boeuf Braisee – RM120
Braised Beef Cheek in Red Wine Sauce, carrots, mushrooms, pearl onion and mashed potatoes. We requested for the mash to be replaced by truffle fries.
These beef cheeks were meltingly tender, bagged with a rich, deep flavour.
Grand Marnier Souffle with Vanilla Ice Cream – RM30
The texture was soft, fluffy and not overly sweet. However the soufle sort of collapse. Perhaps it wasn’t served immediately. Oh well.
Crepes Suzettes – RM30
Actually we don’t find this dish really presentable as the orange sauce were drenching the crepes too much. There are buts somehow. Haha.
The flavour was awesome. Love the buttery, orange-flavoured sauce and this wins the soufle hands down.
They can work on the presentation more.
