Chris and I have been discussing quite a lot about when is the “right time” to send Mini C to playschool before he heads for pre-school. The husband was saying that he should only go to school at the age of 4 but as a new mum, especially a first-time one, it can be really daunting knowing kids at his age learns much faster than him. I know he will eventually learn but I know that we could do something about it to help me overcome this uncomfortable feeling.
Do you send your child for some kind of mental enrichment class?
Playschool, Baby Class, you name it.
However, we’ve heard mixed reports about such classes and the ‘effects’ they may have on our baby. Many people have debated over the pros and cons of these classes — some feel that too much stimulation or a busy schedule of classes can be overwhelming for a baby.
However, we both thought that spending time with our little one is the most important thing. As long as we are enjoying what we’re doing together and having fun, our baby is bound to be happy and content!
As well as being a great way for our baby to learn new skills and extend his social circle, it’s also the perfect excuse to get out of the house and meet new people! Right?!
And that’s why we chose:

Mini C joined the BrainFit Baby™ Classes 🙂
According to the teachers, they aim to build critical brain fitness and intelligence foundations in our child. It is for infants and toddlers from 9 months until 3 years old.
We will also learn how to optimize home environments, interact and play with our child to support this critical development.

During the first part of the class, Mini C was introduced to an obstacle course – gross and fine motor activities to build sensory-motor mental fitness.
Visualization activities will help to sharpen visual and spatial intelligence.
During the first class, this happened! He just wouldn’t sit still and I’ve to sit in with him. Even that I did, he still wriggled around, which was my concern because its’ very difficult to get him to focus!
Still wouldn’t sit!
And when teacher said “Clean Up time”. He throws tantrum cos he still wants to play!
Structured listening and language stimulation will be used to enhance receptive and expressive language development.
He likes flash cards. Haha
But he was very distracted. Omg.
Memory and recall activities will help to strengthen memory and focus.
Pretend play and emotional vocabulary will lay the foundation for social-emotional intelligence.
2nd Class: It was so much better!
We wasn’t sure if he gets used to the class already or he’s just in a super good mood that day, every activity seemed better and we hope he just gets better and better after each session!
Going through obstacles. Go underneath! Yay, he listens! LOL.
Chris helping him with balancing.
He was supposed to sit on it but he decides to balance with his feet. Haha.. Should go for ice skating lessons next time like daddy & mommy!
Why did I say he was better?
He sits in class!
Though he still wouldn’t listen to instructions, or doesn’t know, he’s having fun I think haha
Learning from Teacher Amy
Err… what’s that mommy? It’s tough. lol
Memory game time!
Listening to what Teacher Celest says
I also joined!
Class ended with a Story telling time!
