We’ve been hearing about Top Catch and how fresh their sashimis are for quite sometime since last year. Finally we paid a visit to this fishery, a small shoplot located in front of the Taman OUG market. Parking can be quite painful to find here at the busy market.
I love how catchy their signboard is. Though small in size (their shoplot) but easily spotted. Well, at least for us as we were looking out for it while hawk-eyeing for parkings with a baby with us. Haha.
Learning that the owners of Top Catch, both in their early 30s; Chiew & Teo gave up their high-paying jobs to achieve dream of selling fish, we were very impressed with their spirit.
Who would wanna make such a huge switch from a high paid job to being “fishermen”?? I mean setting up a business to sell seafood. Haha.
Top Catch brings people fresh catches of the day, everyday!
According to Teo, they have more selections during weekends e.g Hokkaido scallops and other fishes. Most people have suggested that we should reach as early as we can before the fishes are all being sold. I guess that usually applies to weekends as when we were there on a weekday nearing 12pm, we could still get our loot of Salmon sashimi!
But you would probably want to see more selections so be there earlier.
Go morning market must go earlier right??
Sadly, there are no seats in the shop. (It’s just a shop selling fishes, not a restaurant)
However, you can take your seats at the Kopitiam next door as long as you order drinks or food from the Kopitiam.
When you want seafood to feed your family, you can count on Top Catch for a great selection of high-quality products at affordable prices, with a variety of refrigerated and frozen products.
I believe their seafood will satisfy even the most discriminating tastes, delivering a fresh experience.
Some Japanese food products such as Japanese baby grains (I bought these for Mini C), sauces etc are also available.
We were there for salmon only that day.
Bought a tray of salmon sashimi (sake) for RM27. By just looking at it, take my money!
Its bright orange flesh is tender, fatty and delicious.
Chris also bought slices of salmon fillet in which he ended up cooking over lunch. So fresh! About RM9/100g.
