*CLOSED DOWN*
Millesime which means ‘Vintage’ or ‘Good Harvest’ in French, has done a marvellous job in allowing their patrons to venture their tastebuds excitingly everytime they decided to dine at Millesime. It is indeed the ‘it’ place to be especially if you’re the kind of person would tend to brainstorm in order to pick your lunch or dinner.
At Millesime, it’s definitely a no brainer!
Why said so?
We could just sit back, relax and enjoy the menu of the day that the chef will prepare with selections of mains for each day. Thus, there will be new surprises everyday!
Special thanks to Millesime for this great experience 🙂
Outdoor terrace
Open kitchen concept
“Off menu”. “Private kitchen”
These are some of the terms that is populared by Chef Max Chin who believed in new approaches for this French influenced restaurant. He did the same too for Max.@ iHaus Western Fine Dining that we once went. Though he has decided to move forward to the administrative side, but I believe his spirits of maintaining his vows of ‘best dishes prepared with the best ingredients’ would remain 🙂

Entrees
Wine: Brancott Marlborough Pinot Noir
Tartare of Smoked Salmon with Sea Trout – Remoulade
The fresh flavours of the smoked salmon was brought out perfectly with different texture; the smoother version on top and the minced version at the bottom with the trout. And i love how they adorned this dish with the ikuras 🙂 Definitely a healthy entree.
Wine: Brancott Marlborough Pinot Noir
Poached Foie Gras, Beef Consomme and Vegetables Brunoise
A surprise preparation of foie gras that we had, bidding goodbyes to the usual cooking method that we used to taste; pan fried. This poached version of foie gras was cleverly prepared. Retaining its juiciness while maintaining the ‘melt-in-your-mouth’ criteria. Immersed in the beef consomme, that equaled perfectness. The consomme was very well flavoured and though there’s an intention to lick the bowl clean, we reminded ourselves about the table manners. Haha.
Mains
Wine: Casillero del Diablo Chardonnay
Roulade of Chicken Breast and Asparagus Gratinee
The chicken breast was not too dry and rolled with great taste of fillings. Rolled around together with the chicken skin adds smoothness to it.
OR
Wine: Casillero del Diablo Chardonnay
White Truffle Oil Fish Pie!
One of Millesime’s signature dish, this is a must-try (provided it’s on the menu that particular day :))
Beating the odds of having the usual dish of Chicken mushroom pie again, this truffle oil fish pie is definitely a good appetite makeover! Crispy outer pastry that was baked till golden brown, enclosing the creamy gems inside; fish fillets and mushrooms 🙂
Dessert
Seasonal Berries – Macaroon Mille Feuille with Mango Sherbet
Though we personally thought the mango sherbet was a tad too sweet for our liking, the fresh berries, mangoes & particularly the Macaroons saved it all!
Well, we once claimed Nathalie’s Gourmet version was delectable enough to be comparable to the ones we had in Paris, Millesime’s Macaroons won hands down this round. A more compact version, well infused with the flavours and most importantly not too sweet 🙂
According to Millesime, we can pre-order their Macaroons! Yay! We were served with flavours of Chocolate & Pistachio that day.
