A trip down good old Malacca is never complete without savoring her Nyonya dishes. Well earlier we had Donald & Lily’s Nyonya Food, and most of the delectable nyonya fares are concentrated in Melaka Raya commercial areas such as Makko and some hidden gems located at third cross street like Nancy’s Kitchen.
Let us now set out palates to savour some finger-licking good Nyonya cakes (Nyonya Kuihs) next!
Having heard of Baba Charlie Lee, we drove towards Jalan Tengkera Pantai. We circled that area quite a bit and never did we know Baba Charlie’s house is nestled on an alley along Tengkera Pantai 2C.
Please take note of the road signs *wink*
We parked our car on the main road and decided to take a brisk walk, making our way to Baba Charlie’s house of Nyonya kuihs!
Their recipe has been around for over 2 decades. It all started with their small business of selling their cakes/ delicacies at the night market or pasar malam around over 20 years ago. Their hard work and authenticity paid off with business expanding, now being a major supply to restaurants, hotels & even events. It was a great experience being able to take a stroll around the house through the kitchen of Charlie Lee.
With portraits and old pictures displayed in different frames on the wall. Not forgetting their Wall of Fame too.
Let’s feast our eyes on those mouth watering Nyonya cakes like kuih kochi, rempah udang, kuih talam, Nyonya kuih Chang and many more selections at a very cheap and affordable price!

We shopped happily for Nyonya cakes 🙂
We’re very satisfied shoppers!
